Hi! Welcome to my ‘Who I Am’ page, where you can find out more about me.

Growing up in Ireland, the land of myths and legends, I was immersed in a world where stories felt like a part of everyday life. My grandad was a natural storyteller, and I remember him telling tales of mysterious happenings that felt so real to me.

On reflection, I can see that this contributed to my fascination with the magic that can feel so tangible for me in Ireland.

I always loved drawing, painting and creating art so I dabbled with the idea of making a living from it.

Then when I wholeheartedly chose to home educate our children, I consciously set aside the idea of making a living from my art. It felt like a necessary sacrifice at the time that I was more than happy to make.

Having lived in England from the age of 13, I moved to Northern Ireland with my family in 2019. Then Lockdown struck, and our lives were turned upside down. In the midst of the uncertainty, I rediscovered the joy of creating art with my trusty graphite pencils. As I dusted off my sketchbook and began drawing again, it felt like reigniting an old flame.

The slow, gentle process of putting pencil to paper brought me a sense of calm and clarity, leading me to where I am now.

Now back on Irish soil, my art has taken on a new direction. In recent years I have been immersing myself in the ancient tales of Irish myths and legends, and I draw inspiration from these captivating stories and reflect them in my artwork. Alongside this, I've developed a unique style of line art, which was built upon the doodles I've been making for years, and I now incorporate it into most of my work. My line art typically represents a magical or mysterious aspect of my drawings.

When you see my artwork, I hope you feel the same connection to the stories that ignited my fascination for the Irish tales of my ancestors. Art has a remarkable power to bridge the gap between the past and the present, reigniting our fascination with enduring legends.

For me, it's not just about the drawings or the stories—it's about the magic of our shared connection and the joy of rediscovering the beauty of our rich culture.
