Uaithne / Dagda's Harp Mug

£14.00

Are you looking for a gift for someone who loves Irish folklore and mythology? Or maybe you’d like to treat yourself to a little reminder of it with your daily morning coffee? Well this could be just what you’re looking for…

Fadó, fadó (a long time ago) the Dagda, the father God of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish mythology, treasured Uaithne, a magical harp that only made music when he played it.

Way back when the tradition of storytelling could probably be considered the Social Media of its day, stories of Uaithne, were widespread in Ireland.

This shows how deeply grounded the image of the harp is in Irish culture and so I made my own version.

The same image is printed on both sides of the mug, so there’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ side! And in the middle is this written information:

Uaithne (pronounced 'oo-en-ya') is the Dagda’s harp.

The Dagda was considered to be the father God of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish mythology.

Only he could play Uaithne and when he did, it made the seasons arrive in their proper order.

He could also control the feelings of anyone who heard it and even put them to sleep.

The print retains its quality and luster when used in both microwaves and the dishwasher.

  • Ceramic 11oz mug

  • Dishwasher and microwave safe

  • FREE shipping to EU / UK / USA

  • Shipping elsewhere is extra - follow through to checkout without paying to find out the exact amount

This product is made just for you once you place your order, which means delivery takes a little longer. By creating products on demand rather than in bulk, we help reduce overproduction—so thank you for supporting thoughtful, sustainable choices!

Please note: After placing your order, you'll receive an estimated delivery date. However, I recommend allowing an additional 5 working days for any potential postal delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience!
